A culinária georgiana vem da encruzilhada do Cáucaso, entre o Mar Negro e a Rota da Seda, e é organizada em torno do supra – o banquete ritual liderado por um brinde (tamada) onde a mesa se enche de ponta a ponta. A Geórgia também reivindica oito mil anos de vinificação em vasos de barro qvevri enterrados, um método listado pela UNESCO, e o vinho é inseparável da cultura alimentar.
